GENERAL BILL   by Healthcare Council and Cretul (CO-SPONSORS) Homan
Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics: Revises definitions; changes Board of Orthotists & Prosthetists composition; expands rule authority to include standards of practice for orthotic fitters, orthotic fitter assistants, & residents & requirements for mandatory courses & standards & qualifications for continuing education courses & course providers; deems Florida Association of Orthotists & Prosthetists, Inc., as approved course provider; requires registration for resident to practice orthotics or prosthetics & establishes registration prerequisites; authorizes licensure as prosthetist-orthotist; revises requirements for applicants for registration, examination, or licensure; requires fingerprint & background check; provides fee structure for application, examination, registration, & licensure; authorizes DOH to develop & administer state licensing examination or board to approve national standards organization examination; modifies duty delegation to support personnel & requires personnel identification; requires methods of practitioner & resident identification; revises disciplinary grounds; clarifies & conforms exemptions; revises use of titles requirements.
